WA-2

“Today is the day” Evan said. It was the big day of the soccer championship of the 17-18 year olds and it was his last day, last year on a soccer team. He was in his bed sitting up looking around the room he saw his little fish swimming around in his fish tank, all of his soccer trophies and medals from past victories and teams. So he wanted it to be the best one and finish out in style since he was the starting center forward. He got out of bed, jumped up and hit his head against the ceiling. His mom was yelling to him “what was that noise and breakfast is also ready, come and get it before it gets cold sweetie!” He gets ready. He puts on his black and grey underarmer, his black and white jersey, and his black shorts and goes downstairs to breakfast. He looks at a picture of his dad on the wall as he goes down the wooden stairs and gets kind of sad and happy at the same time and says to himself “dad I’m going to be as great as you were.” His father was killed in a soccer game from someone going up for the ball with their feet and it killed him instantly. Evan kissed the necklace around his neck, which was a golden soccer ball that his dad would have won if he hadn’t of died that day. He got to the bottom of the stairs and turned off the light to the upstairs. The sun was shining brightly and was coming through the kitchen window and lite up the whole room. His feet got cold once he touched the tiled kitchen floor and said “WOW, that’s cold burr”. Evan’s mom said “then why don’t you put some socks on then silly.” Evan sits down and his mom had made him his favorite breakfast. It includes scrambled eggs with a little bit of salt and pepper to balance it out, five slices of crispy bacon not cooked too much or too little, and home fries with some hot peppers to give it a little heat and onions to mellow it out as well while being cooked in bacon grease, but last but not least three large pancakes the size of a hand! To drink it all down was a large glass of whole milk. While Evan was eating his mom asked him “how do you think you will do today?” and finished the last bite of his eggs and said “we are going to win I mean I’m on the team, dahh. Hahaha.” He got in the car and they left for the game. He was in the passenger side listening to music getting himself pumped up for the game. He thought in his head “this game is going to be my own little World Cup!” while listening to “We Are the Champions” by Queen. He gets out of the car and thinks he sees his father in the stands about to watch the game and he looks back and he is not there. Evan thinks “did I just see my dad, that can’t be??” The game starts and Evan isn’t really feeling that good playing wise, he thinks he is being slow and he is missing balls and not passing well. The referee blows his whistle and its half time. Evan is bummed that he is playing so bad and the team is just tied instead of crushing the other team at this point. The half is almost over and someone whispers in his ear “come on, you’ve got this boy. I know you are great, so get out there and show me you are as great as I was!” Evan turns his head around and no one is there and feels really spooked and then thinks “its dad he believes in me.” He kisses his golden soccer ball on his necklace and goes out in the second half and dominates. He passed the balls great, got to the balls great and scored two times. It was over his final game. He was very proud of himself because he knew his father watched him play and from now on knew he was watching over him.
